Now more than ever it is vital for businesses to have an online presence.

Many small/medium sized Irish businesses will be aware of the Trading Online Voucher Scheme available through your Local Enterprise Office (LEO). This grant of up to €2,500 is designed to assist small businesses with up to 10 employees to trade more online, boost sales and reach new markets.

As of this month, April 2020, there has been two important updates to this Government voucher scheme:

  • For applications received after 7th April 2020, applicants are eligible to claim up to 90% of funding (up from 50%) up to a maximum of €2500
  • It is now possible for businesses to claim two Trading Online Vouchers (previously it was capped at one TOV per business)

The Trading Online Voucher can be used for a number of works. These include the development or upgrade of an e-commerce website, for internet related software, for online advertising, for the development of an app, consultancy with an ICT expert, and the adoption and implementation of a digital marketing strategy.

To qualify for the voucher, the business must be trading for at least 6 months, have 10 employees or fewer, have less than €2m turnover, attend a training seminar with your LEO regarding the voucher, and have a limited existing online trading presence.
