Emigrate and Retire to Ireland

Posted in Retirement

It is possible to retire to Ireland.

To do so you must be financially independent and provide verification of compliance with financial conditions.

Verification must be provided by an Irish accountancy firm.

You are not entitled to Irish State benefits while living in Ireland on a retirement permission.

To apply you should have an income of €50,000 p.a. and ready access to a significant lump sum to cover emergencies.

You must initially apply by completing an application form. If your application is successful, you will receive a letter of offer conditional on you meeting visa checks and immigration officer approval on entry to Ireland.

If you require a visa, you must contact a visa office to apply and receive a D-Reside visa before you come to Ireland.

If a visa is not required, you may come to Ireland.

The granting of entry does not mean that that your application to retire to Ireland is successful as you must have your passport stamped by the Department of Justice.
