The “2” indicates that the vehicle was first registered during the period 1 July to 31 December, in the year of registration.

 

Unfortunately, this new number plate format has not saved the motor car industry as new car sales have plummeted in the first month of the year.

 

Just 17,299 cars were sold in January, a drop of almost 4,000.

 

Motor car industries are hoping that car sales will increase in July this year. Watch this space!
